Barb's TEA Shop Seminars

The London TEA Experienece

Barb, daughter, Rachel and husband, Chris, enjoy Afternoon Tea at the London Ritz in June.

Barb’s TEA Shop was on the road this summer and took on as many tea experiences as time (and family) allowed.

In June, Barb & Co. took a trip to London and, their first stop was the London Ritz. Accompanied by her husband and daughter, Barb was seated in the Palm Court of the Ritz for an evening “Afternoon Tea”. Along with scones, savories, sweets and tea, champagne was also served. Of course, with the addition of champagne or sherry, it could be termed a “Royal Tea”. How appropriate, being so near the Queen!

Not surprisingly, Barb discovered that no matter where they had tea, be it the Ritz, a sidewalk café or even their hotel lobby, the tea was always delicious. What was unexpected was learning that 96% of all tea brewed in Britain comes from a tea bag!

Barb’s family, Chris, Rob, Rachel and Matt enjoy a tea break at one of London’s many sidewalk cafes.

While in England, Barb and family also took in day trip to Bath. For all of you Austen-philes, you know this is home to many a Jane Austen novel. Barb visited the celebrated “Pump Room” while there and has since added a new seminar to her fall line-up, “The Austen-tacious Afternoon Tea”. Contact Barb’s Tea Shop for full details.

Barb now includes a few of her favorite tea time pictures from England in her afternoon tea presentation.

Barb’s TEA Shop Now Offers Imported Teas and Curds

With our wide-range of teas, select from classics such as English Breakfast or Earl Gray or any of our fruit-flavored black teas which include mango, strawberry or blackberry. For a light alternative and healthy drink, be sure to try our green tea.

For an out-of-the ordinary treat, choose our limited edition “Wedding Tea”, made in honor of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles. It is a delightfully smooth Darjeeling that makes any tea time break a special occasion. Also, makes a great bridal shower or engagement gift. It’s simply “too-too”.

Barb’s TEA Shop’s curds are another must have for tea time. With the exclusive, Barb’s TEA Shop label, you won’t find these anywhere else.

Choose a traditional lemon curd or try something different, like our tangy key lime or sparking strawberry-champagne curds. Perfect for scones, they can also be a wonderful addition to many other foods. Other serving suggestions are listed on the label. These, too, make great gifts for the tea-enthusiasts on your list!

Children’s Etiquette Programs Start this Fall

This fall, Barb’s TEA Shop Seminars will offer after-school etiquette classes as part of the Rochester Schools Enrichment program. Starting in October, the “Teddy Bear Manners Workshop” will be available to six schools in the Rochester school district. This workshop is recommended for grades 1 – 3. While enjoying a “tea” party, children will learn proper table etiquette as well as how to start a conversation and make friends.

“Alice in Wonderland Manners Workshop” will be offered in the winter term for grades 1 – 5. Using a tea party theme, boys and girls will learn proper etiquette for eating in restaurants or attending adult functions with their parents. Geared for the older grades or a follow–up to the Teddy Bear Tea for the lower grades.
